JP Cub Scouting

My name is Chas Horvath.  I'm retired and my wife and I have lived in Jamaica Plain for 10 years.   My sons were active in Scouting during their youth and I also participated in a number of capacities including Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, and Merit Badge Counselor.

I beleive Scouting is a great program (community, service, growth, the outdoors) and after a 20+ year hiatus I think the timing and conditions are right to take a run at restarting Cub Scouts and Scouts USA (formerly Boy Scouts) in JP.  Among other things the program is now coed, has very robust procedures and training for safeguarding youth, and welcomes all sexual orientations.  Interest might be there as well, in 2022 a Cub Scout Pack was started at the Josiah Quincy School in Chinatown and it now has ~100 members. 

So with the help of Council and others I aspire to start a Cub Scout Pack in JP, and once that is established, a Scout troop.
