JP Cub Scouting

My name is Chas Horvath.  My wife and I are retired and have lived in Jamaica Plain for 10 years.   My sons were active in Scouting during their youth, and at that time, I also participated as Cubmaster and Scoutmaster.

I believe Scouting is a great program (community, service, growth, the outdoors) and after a 20+ year hiatus, I think the time and conditions are right to restart Cub Scouts and Scouts USA (formerly Boy Scouts) in JP.  The Cub Scouts and Scouts USA programs are now gender inclusive, have very robust procedures and training for safeguarding youth, and welcome all sexual orientations.

So with the help of Council and others, I aspire to start a Cub Scout Pack in JP, and once that is established, a Scouts USA troop.  Note that Cub Scouts and Scouts USA are not affiliated with Girl Scouts of America.
